Why a chair
A chair is a partner that never misses a count. It gives you levels to play with, from standing tall behind it to sitting, leaning, and sliding to the floor in front of it. It also gives you balance, which makes some of the most dramatic shapes easier than they look.
Chair choreography is sensual and theatrical at the same time. Every move tells a small story, and the chair is the set.
How class builds
Class starts with a warm up for your hips, back, and legs. Then you learn the basics: how to sit with intention, how to stand and step around the chair, how to transfer weight so it never tips or slides.
From there you build the choreography in short phrases. Each phrase gets repeated until it lives in your body, then linked to the next. The last run is full out, with the music up and your eyes on the room.
What to bring and wear
Wear clothes you can move and bend in, and knee pads for the moments that go to the floor. Heels are optional; the moves work in bare feet, socks, or sneakers too.

Do I need dance experience for chair?
No. The basics come first, and every move has a simpler version while you build strength and confidence.
Do I need to bring my own chair?

Can I do chair in heels?
Yes, if you are comfortable in them. Start with a stable heel with an ankle strap, or dance in socks or bare feet until you feel ready.
Can I book a private chair class for a group?

Is chair dance safe?
Every move is taught with a safe way in and out, and you always control the pace. Skip anything that does not feel right and take the simpler version.
